Biking Holiday
There are more than enough mountains in the holiday region Kronplatz and in the Pustertal!
The Dolomites, famed throughout the world as a hiking area, also lend themselves exceptionally well to biking. Numerous mountain bike trails, packed with variety and signposted according to level of difficulty, offer the ambitious amateur just as much fun as for the high-speed downhill racer.
A fantastic tour through the unique countryside of the Dolomites leads you along marked trails in the neighbouring National Park of Fanes-Sennes-Prags. Mountain bikers set off directly from the Almhotel Lenz into this breathtaking world of jagged rock, alpine pastures and idyllic countryside. The views at the end will prove to be more than reward for your efforts.
You will find over 500 kilometers of biking trails to choose from around Olang.
The cycle path from Bruneck to Tauferer Ahrntal and through to Sand Taufers is very easy and is an ideal training route for more challenging bike tours.
It runs mostly on the flat through fields and meadows and leads past the famous Reiner Waterfall. The entire path is well signposted from start to finish and runs over level ground. The 17.5 km tour begins in Bruneck and runs partly along tarmac roads. It can be completed in about an hour.
An absolute highlight for biking fans in the Dolomites has to be the Pustertal bike path: 105 kilometers of cycling fun from Mühlbach at the start of the Pustertal to Lienz in East Tyrol. The best part being that the route goes right through Olang, your holiday village in Kronplatz. As there are no particularly steep gradients to tackle, the Pustertal cycle path is exceptionally well-suited to family trips.
Of course, there are countless stop-off points and picnic sites along the trail.
